On August 13, 2022, the Los Angeles Dodgers visited the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The teams honored their histories, including Jackie Robinson having played for both the Dodgers and the Kansas City Monarchs.

The Dodgers wore Brooklyn Dodgers uniforms, and the Royals were decked out in red and white to honor the Monarchs. Andrew Heaney started for the Dodgers, while Brad Keller went for the Royals.

The Royals got hits from Bobby Witt, Jr. Salvador Perez, Hunter Dozier, Ryan O'Hearn, Nick Pratto, Brent Rooker, Michael Massey, and Nate Eaton but lost the game 13-3.
